Keira Knightley Style Double Shot

Posted on June 26, 2014

With celebrity style, sometimes you have to give people props for doing things most of us would consider no-brainers, like, say…

… lining a dress instead of going out and putting your underwear (or lack) on display. Attagirl, Keira. This appears to be a thing that’s hard to do for celebrities, so you deserve props.

Love every bit of this look. It’s almost like a parody of a Keira Knightley look; romantic to an almost absurd degree and striking at the same time, with almost no other styling. With Keira, it’s always about finding something really dramatic and well-suited to her – and then hanging it on her cheekbones. Hey, go with what works, we say. At least she’s not boring in the Angelina Jolie mode.

But this next one is a disappointment:

Maybe it suffers from the comparison to the first look, but this comes off heavy and shapeless. But this is a very rare instance of a model working a garment much better than Miss Keira. It turns into a different dress on her, which means Girl? That is NOT your dress. And it has nothing to do with size or shape, since Keira’s pretty much model-sized and model-shaped. It’s simply not a garment that plays to her strengths and she doesn’t seem to know what to do with it. It may have been helped by some un-Keira-like styling, since this isn’t quite a “hang it off your cheekbones” kinda look.
