We always got the impression that this was one of the royal duties she enjoys the most. Not to suggest that she doesn’t care about the early childhood development causes and such that she spends her time promoting, but let’s face it, being a senior royal, while not exactly backbreaking work, can be an awfully dreary series of tasks when there are no tiaras involved. It’s got to be fun to walk a real red carpet with major movie stars once a year after all that ribbon-cutting. She gets to be a little more glamorous than normal (although not much, because she’ll never be flashy or trendy) as the wife of the organization’s president. But this had to have been a tough one for the Waleses. If you clicked on this post we doubt very much that we need to inform you about Prince Andrew’s arrest, but as royal scandals go, this one’s got to be top of the list and it fell on the most popular royals to shoulder the burden of facing the public. She chose a relatively demure rewear, which she previously wore to a Women in Finance dinner, which should give you some idea of where she sees it falling on the glamour scale. People expect to see her in a gown and diamonds at an event like this, but she knows that if she shows up looking flashy while her uncle-in-law faces charges, the press would have a field day. The skirt is lovely but the bodice looks way too binding and restrictive. We don’t think the colors are the best choice for her and the bouncin’ royal curls remain just a little overdone. It’s giving child pageant.
