In the world of red carpet commentary, there’s always going to be a tendency toward the showier looks; the risk-takers and head-turners. Quiet elegance doesn’t necessarily make for the best commentary or headlines. Even so, sometimes a couple of bitches have got to recognize:
Sometimes you need to be reminded that classic forms and styles are classics for a reason. In this case, the reminder comes in the form of as perfect an example of a classic goddess/angel gown as you’re likely to find outside of an antiquities museum or a cathedral. We wish the skirt was fully lined, but it’s not a dealbreaker for us. The pleating and drape are perfect, the cape has an ethereal, almost angelic quality, and the styling is chef’s kiss perfect. Love the hair, love the clutch. We might have rec’d some showier jewelry. Even angels like to sparkle a little.
