It’s four days post-awards season which means we are way past the time when the attendees of the Vanity Fair Oscar party had their outfits assessed by us. We made some leeway before now, giving spotlight posts where we could (which you can catch up on here), but these poor folks have been waiting far too long to find out if we like their outfits. Let’s help them out.
Audrey Nuna in Maison Margiela Couture
Pure stunning. It’s too much, but it’s the good kind of too much.
Colman Domingo in Jacquemus
As always, he looks fantastic, but we can’t say we’re loving the innovative way of wearing a pocket square.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph in Karla Gil
We love that she’s working a sheer lace, but it’s not enough to overcome our dislike of sheer lace on the red carpet. The bust design is especially bad.
Demi Moore in Balenciaga
Still very tired of seeing feathers on the red carpet, but this is darkly glamorous, like an updated Norma Desmond.
EJAE in Dior
Wow, her first misstep. The textile is dreary looking.
Eiza González in Miu Miu
She looks like she can’t breathe in it, but the design is pretty and glam.
Felicity Jones in Valentino
Love the color, hate the tiers, the high waist, and those silly dangling straps.
Hannah Einbinder in Colleen Allen
Meh. She picked up a dressing gown to dress up a boring frock. Unimpressed.
Jane Fonda in Rodarte
Can’t argue with that. We’re not sure if the necklace works well with the neckline, but it’s gorgeous.
Kate Hudson in Gucci
She looks hot in it, but she looks like she’s wearing a sport bra.
Kiernan Shipka in Rodarte
We’re a little surprised to see her in something so girly and precious, since she’s worked very hard to get away from that image. We wish we could say we like it, but it’s way too “little girl’s bedroom.”
Kim Kardashian in Gucci
We can’t get mad at it. We wish she had feet and we think it looks like she can’t breathe in it (which is par for the course), but we can’t deny it’s a spectacular gown.
Matt Bomer in Brioni
Your Gay Mystery Date has arrived.
Meg Ryan in Nina Ricci
We don’t love the color, but it’s a great, classic gown and it’s styled well for her. Love the bangle.
Paul Mescal in Celine
You’ll pry those goofy-ass ties out of his cold, dead hands.
Priyanka Chopra (in Dior) and Nick Jonas
We can’t say we love the idea of a beige dinner jacket, but we also can’t say he looks bad in it. Her gown would be flawlessly stunning without that horrible muppet trim.
Rei Ami in Quine Li
We love Big Fashion, but this looks way too heavy and fuzzy for us to love it. She must have been sweating her ass off.
Rose Byrne (in Dior) and Bobby Cannavale
She looks very relaxed and chic. They look great together.
Sarah Paulson in Matières Fécales
It’s insane and we love it. The shoes made us laugh with delight.
Simone Ashley in Tamara Ralph Couture
One thing’s for sure: that’s the most fabulous paramecium dress we’ve ever seen. No, it’s not the only one.
Sofia Vergara in Zuhair Murad
The beading placement is deeply unfortunate.
Suki Waterhouse in Tamara Ralph Couture
And now our second-favorite paramecium dress! The skirt is gorgeous. The “top” is definitely unique, but we can’t say we love it.
Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner (in McQueen)
We laughed out loud at this shot. He looks like such a goofy-ass poser with his pants tucked into his boots. It’s all so affected and try hard. Her dress is fine but it’s too tight.
Tracee Ellis Ross in Marine Serre
Lady, your skirt looks like laundry.
