On Oscar night, Nicole Kidman suffered the effects of not consulting with us ahead of time, because she managed to pick two dresses that would have been met with “ABSOLUTELY NOT” from us if she’d bothered asking. Let that be a lesson to you, Nicole.

First, you came to the ceremony in a chicken lady dress. Considering how many feathered frocks were on that red carpet, it’s really impressive that she managed to find the one that we’d hate the most. The dress is the color of raw poultry and the feathers look like the aftermath of an attack. The bodice just looks dirty for some reason. This dress looks like the result of a designer who ran out of ideas.

She followed up the chicken dress with the “old couch in a vintage shop” dress, which is actually making this sound better than it is. We LOATHE the frayed edges, but the textile itself isn’t necessarily terrible. It’s just terrible for her coloring and not the kind of material that lends itself to a gown. It looks incredibly heavy and dreary on her, not to mention itchy.
