Cameron Diaz was spotted in New York shooting a new rom com, so at least one thing is going right in the world.

Deadline informs us that, “The as-yet-untitled film follows a workaholic Brit (Merchant) employed at an upscale New York hotel who needs a wife for appearances. He strikes a deal with a struggling stand-up comic (Diaz) who is desperate for health insurance. Their fake marriage starts as a transaction but ends in an unexpected romance.” Because of course it does! Look, we’re just happy to see Cam back doing what she does best. We thought her choice to retire at forty because, as she put it, she wasn’t interested in playing moms for the rest of her career, was both a very savvy one and an indictment of Hollywood. She took a decade off, had her kids, and now she’s back shooting rom coms in her fifties. We’d say she made the right choice.
