It’s time for those Heated Rivalry boys to start taking some victory laps, now that the show is not only a bona fide hit, but a discourse generator. It’s rare enough for any show to get a foothold in the culture in this day and age; rarer still when it manages to inspire some heady conversations and rhetoric. That a sexy gay romance show managed it seems like cause for celebration, yes? We couldn’t really get into the show, but we’re happy to see it succeed. Anyway, here’s one of the show’s stars, Hudson Williams, all gussied up on The Tonight Show.

It’s genuinely nice to see a guystar in a really nice ensemble on a talk show. Most of them whiff it or go too casual. And sure, a Balmain suit is perhaps a little more formal than the situation calls for, but considering how many ladystars have been showing up to talk show sets in gowns lately, we can’t get mad at it. Having said that, the fit is very boxy on him. This is the kind of jacket that really only works for standing, so it doesn’t make for the best choice here. His shirt is riding up and we have to assume it’s short-sleeved, because we’re not seeing any cuffs — and we should be seeing cuffs. Still, he looks very cute, and even if it’s not impeccable, it’s impressively put together.
