Ewan went in a a more or less traditional formal style, with some unusual button placement being the only real deviation from the standard.

While David went for his typically flashier, more modern style. Far be it for us to declare which route is the correct one for a Scotsman to take, but we tend to think Ewan looks much better, if only because David looks like he took a swim in a vat of bronzer. We appreciate how much pizazz he brings to his red carpet style, but Tennant was always only a few degrees off from Liberace or Elton John in his heyday and it hasn’t always worked for us. The gray of the kilt looks gorgeous and we love both the boots and the dagger broach, but he looks like he’s being attacked by a swarm of sequins.
