Much in the manner of our previous red carpet post, here are a bunch of stars of a movie dropping on a streamer, dressed in the style that’s becoming the custom for such premieres: professional, slightly photogenic, but not too heavy on the glam.

We fear we’re heading into a period where celebrity promo style is going to look a lot like people at a corporate conference. Anyway, here are the stars of Steve, looking the very picture of presentable — literally.
Cillian Murphy

What a shame. He is who he is and if fashion’s not his bag, so be it. But he could literally walk a runway as a model right now, at his age, even if he wasn’t a movie star. Menswear is literally made for guys like him and he could wear something infinitely more interesting than this without putting the slightest bit of extra effort into it.
Tracey Ullman

She looks quite chic and restrained. The necklace is a nice touch and she’s clearly loving a coat with pockets.
Jay Lycurgo (in Fendi) and Little Simz (in Acne Studios)

Thank God for these two, right? While his suit is just okay, the shirt lends it some interest and makes it quite a bit less stuffy than Cillian’s effort. Her outfit is pretty fabulous, but we have to admit, that coat doesn’t really read as red carpet to us. It’s stiff, heavy, and she’s extremely buttoned up in it. The boots are fun and would have worked better with something a little less restrictive. Still, it’s memorable and we can’t hate it.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Set in the mid-90s, Steve is a reimagining of Max Porter’s Sunday Times bestseller Shy. The film follows a pivotal day in the life of headteacher Steve (Academy Award® winner Cillian Murphy) and his students at a last-chance reform school amidst a world that has forsaken them. As Steve fights to protect the school’s integrity and impending closure, we witness him grappling with his own mental health. In parallel to Steve’s struggles, we meet Shy (Jay Lycurgo), a troubled teen caught between his past and what lies ahead as he tries to reconcile his inner fragility with his impulse for self-destruction and violence.
