Dan Stevens and Lily James got together to have a good life at all their former Downton Abbey co-stars, who are still out flogging these characters ten years after they each said goodbye to the whole thing. Okay, no. They got together for the premiere of their film Swiped, but we like to think they had a good laugh at how little effort they had to put into their outfits compared to their former co-workers.

To be fair, she did try to step things up for the occasion. He… did not.

This is a fabulous dress that looks perfect on her, but the styling really doesn’t do enough to set it off. It’s fine, and we can’t claim she looks bad or somehow not polished enough, but it definitely feels like it’s missing something. An up do and a killer pair of earrings would’ve helped, but neither of those are particularly trendy at the moment.

It just reeks of tryhard to us. Dan, you’ve done a very good job of banishing the thoughts of that upper class twit from your resume. You don’t have to work so hard at it now. It’s actually kind of stylish and eye-catching, but it’s completely wrong for the red carpet.
