Hunh. We think you can do a sort of grunge/lady who lunches hybrid style — in fact, we’re intrigued by the notion the more we consider it – but we just don’t think this collection of items works all that well together. The pattern mixing is meant to give it an edge, but the vibe is completely undone by the extremely traditional designs. There’s a germ of an interesting idea here, and she’s particularly well suited to work slightly irony-laden styles with a rocker undertone, but these pieces and this styling needed way more of an edge to work, we think. At the very least, we’d have rec’d a pair of boots.

It’s very basic and it’s very her. That sounds meaner than it’s meant to. She’s a dancer, so she takes very well to these sorts of stripped-bare body con styles. From a style perspective, it’s a little boring, but she’s so well-suited to it that it doesn’t matter. She looks hot. And we’ll take this sort of “Addicted to Love” style over some of the more awkwardly twee Chanel pieces she wound up wearing over the last few years. We’d recommend a showy necklace of some sort, but that’s just not her vibe.
