The very attractive cast of Fantastic Four: First Steps came out to remind you all of how attractive they are in order to get you to buy tickets. In other words, they got gussied up for the fans ahead of their appearance at CCXP Mexico. Let’s assess.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach

CCXP is a glorified Comic Con sit it’s not like high fashion is an expectation for anyone making an appearance there. Even so, the cast all got dressed up for this one, including Ebon, who is not normally inclined to get sassy with his style. These are all nice pieces of high quality and they suit him well. It’s just that the look as a whole is deadly dull and conservative.

Pedro Pascal

Then again, if your co-star is Pedro Pascal, you might be figuring that any attempt to be stylish will get overshadowed by his satin pants or hip waders or whatever other forms of sartorial nonsense he’ll bring to the promo tour. The silhouette and proportions look great. We even think the satin works. But we can’t sign off on any outfit with that many extraneous and pointless buttons. There’s a certain wit to the design of the shirt, but ultimately, it’s just goofy.

Vanessa Kirby

She’s doing the “Yes, I’m pregnant” pose. The dress kind of looks like a superhero costume already, which makes this feel a little theme-y. Her whole style is simply to throw on something slinky and sparkly and do very little else to support it, so this is more of the same. We wouldn’t have expected her to put more effort into a CCXP appearance even if she weren’t pregnant. If anything, this is a little too dressy for the venue.

Joseph Quinn

We’ve seen this thing for mismatched pin stripe pieces more than once lately and it’s a silly trend. What’s the point? You have squint to even perceive the difference. The one bitchy quibble aside, he looks great here.
