It’s FRIDAY. Let’s overdose on sunlight, sea air, fruity cocktails and lovely nibbly bits. We deserve this, don’t we?

Tony Nominations 2025: ‘Death Becomes Her,’ ‘Maybe Happy Ending’ and ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ Lead
Nominees for the 78th annual Tonys were announced on Thursday, and “Death Becomes Her,” a campy comedy about frenemies on a quest to stay youthful, “Maybe Happy Ending,” a tenderhearted tale about two robots in love, and “Buena Vista Social Club,” a joyous story about celebrated Cuban musicians, were this year’s most nominated shows with 10 nods apiece.
Those three productions will compete against the macabre “Dead Outlaw” and stranger-than-fiction “Operation Mincemeat” for best musical. Contenders for musical revival are “Floyd Collins,” “Gypsy,” “Pirates! The Penzance Musical” and “Sunset Blvd.”

Jean Smart’s View From the Top: On Hacks Season 4, Her Broadway Return, and the Lack of Women in Late-Night TV
As Deborah Vance faces her critics, the woman who plays her shares her own approach to feedback: “I learned to not read reviews. Now, if somebody wants to stick a great review under my nose, I will definitely read it.”

At 73, Smart is aware of the rarified air both she and her series occupy. “I don’t stop realizing and appreciating that I am on a show that I absolutely love, that is so brilliantly written and so smart, with such incredibly cool people—and I’m home every night,” she tells Vanity Fair. “I don’t have to be away from my family, in Atlanta or wherever. Well, I probably wouldn’t have done the job if it had been set or shot in Atlanta.”
Vanity Fair: This season of Hacks airs amid the premiere of your one-woman Broadway show. How are you feeling in the lead-up?
Jean Smart: I am gearing up. I have the first third of the play recorded on my phone, and I fall asleep listening to it every night, because it’s about 75 to 80 pages of material that I need to learn. I have done a couple readings of the play in Los Angeles and New York, so I do have it in my bones a bit already. People say, “How can you possibly memorize that much?” But it’s sort of like when you have a fun anecdote or funny joke—you don’t usually forget any of the details because you can’t wait to tell somebody. So that’s how it feels, because I love this piece so much.

The Italian manicure will make anyone’s nails look longer
Move over French manicure.

If you’ve ever wished you could have longer nails, the Italian manicure is here to make your dreams into a reality. As much as we love the ever-classic French manicure, this competing European mani is stealing our hearts. While the French manicure is by no means a thing of the past (in fact, Jennifer Lopez showed off a trendy micro French manicure just recently), this trending Italian manicure technique is a new solution for those who dream of achieving an optical lengthening effect on their nails.
The Italian manicure is stealing the internet’s attention with the simple, elegant, sophisticated, and easy-to-wear design. The best part? It’s super flattering for those with short nails.

37 easy summer hairstyles that require almost zero skill
Hot girl hairstyles.

Warm weather may create obstacles for our hair (looking at you, humidity), but if you ask us summer hairstyles are pretty much our favourite moment in the calendar for fun, experimental styles. There’s no need to hibernate beneath long layers, instead we’re challenged to lift our hair up and out the way so we can keep cool, while looking even cooler. That’s why the season is prime hunting ground for the cutest hairspo.
If your styling repertoire is limited but you want something fresh, there are plenty of styles that will see you straight and look stunning – without having to spend too much time on them, or learning complicated hairdressing techniques. Plus there’s tons of ways to personalise your summer updo to you and your style.

15 best gradual tans 2025, reviewed by beauty editors
Simple, effective and hydrating.

For any self-tan novices, gradual tan might be better than the best fake tan: essentially, a hint of bronze tint that builds over time. Think of it as a souped-up lotion made up of equal parts body or face cream, plus tanning ingredients.
Gradual tan is “a great option for someone dipping their toes into self-tanning for the first time or those nervous about the process,” says tanning expert Jimmy Coco, who is responsible for Kim Kardashian’s honey glow.

Hair bows are this season’s must-have accessory
All the dreamy inspo.

Undeniably, when it comes to accessories, we’re deep in our hair bows era. And we’re seemingly not along as we’ve seen them all over the red carpet, all over social and all over the hair of our favourite celebrities and influencers.
If you want to level-up an outfit with some extra style kudos, a hair bow is everything. And as Lupita Nyong’o proved, you don’t have to settle for just one. At the Chanel Cruise 2026, her long-time hairstylist Vernon Francois dressed her elaborate up-do with not one, not two, but three hair bows that cascaded down the back from her crown to the nape of her neck.

10 Of The Best Collagen-Boosting Foods To Eat For Better Skin, Hair and Nails
Here’s why what’s on your plate matters more than any supplement

Responsible for the health maintenance of skin, hair and nails, collagen is a hot topic. From powders and tablets to collagen drinks, the collagen supplement market size is estimated to be worth $6.4bn this year and is predicted to reach $9.25 bn by 2030, according to a report by Mordor Intelligence. That’s a lot of pills to swallow.
But collagen – which makes up over 30% of the total protein in our bodies – actually exists in abundance in the food we eat. While it’s true that our natural collagen reserves will deplete as we get older, what we consume does have a knock-on effect on our collagen levels.

How To Wear The Dress-And-Trainers Look With Flair
The time-honoured trend is getting a fashionable update for spring 2024.
With longer evenings and warmer temperatures now firmly in sight, a trusty summer dress-and-trainers combo will likely be the first port of call when transitioning into the new season. It’s a pairing as foolproof as ‘jeans and a nice top’: comfortable, easy and timeless.
But how do you give a time-honoured look a fresh style update for this year? Luckily, a slew of chic new trainer releases have ensured that options are plentiful. Take Bode’s recent Astro Grabber collaboration with Nike, recently sported by Kaia Gerber and Ayo Edebiri. The monochrome trainer, an modern update on the original 1974 design, is the ideal model to go with a stark-white prairie dress or a voluminous organza number.

Everyone’s Obsessed With Anna Camp Playing Reagan And Maddie In ‘You’ Season 5 – Here’s Where You’ve Seen Her Before
Here’s what you need to know

If you’ve been tuning into the final series of Netflix’s fifth and final season of You, it’s highly likely that you’ve got a number of questions surrounding a few of the subplots and characters, namely Maddie and Reagan Lockwood.
Portrayed by actor Anna Camp, the 42-year-old has captivated You audiences with her dual role as the Lockwood twins, who are among the latest addition of characters in season 5 of You.

Does It Actually Matter If You Use Fresh or Jarred Garlic?
Here’s how the pre-prepped stuff compares to fresh cloves.

To say that garlic is a workhorse in any cook’s kitchen is an understatement. This foundational ingredient is crucial to a multitude of dishes that gain depth from as little as one clove or up to a whole head.
But can jarred garlic stand in for fresh? Many “serious” cooks wouldn’t dream of using anything other than garlic cloves pried off tight, fresh heads, and some chefs (most famously Anthony Bourdain) have contributed to pre-prepped garlic’s unsavory reputation. Our take? Jarred garlic should comfortably have a place in the kitchen of anyone who wants to use it, for several reasons.

3 Effortless Spritz Recipes From NYC’s Coolest New Cocktail Spot
Switch up your spritz with these creative recipes from Good Guys in New York City.

A spritz may be the perfect way to pass the time. A low-alcohol and appetite-whetting combination of bitter aperitivo and bubbly fizz, spritzes are excellent to have in hand while you’re waiting for dinner or, say, a seat at one of the most popular bars in New York City.
To help with the often hourslong wait for a seat at their award-winning bar Attaboy, co-owners Michael McIlroy and Sam Ross opened the cheekily named Good Guy’s next door. Attaboy is a dimly lit speakeasy known for ambitious variations on classic American cocktails; Good Guy’s is its spiritual opposite, with a big window framed by carved columns, a blond-wood bar, and a menu filled with light bites and sips.

Turkish Coffee Isn’t a Type of Bean, It’s a Ritual
Get to know the world’s oldest coffee brewing method.

Turkish coffee is an ancient tradition. Pelin Tanyeri, manager at Middle Eastern restaurant ala in Washington, D.C., explains its roots. “The coffee has a 500-year history. It’s not a simple drink, but it’s a lifestyle. It’s the world’s oldest coffee brewing method, invented in the 16th century [during the Ottoman Empire]. And it’s not a coffee bean type; it is a method and preparation.”

Double the Anna, Double the Camp
In another actor’s hands, a twin-swapping storyline in a serial killer series could easily fall into over-the-top, no-way-in-hell-is-that-real territory. But Camp brings deep empathy and zingy humor to the final season of ‘You.’

Anna Camp is used to people thinking she’s uptight. Or prissy. Someone who has absolutely zero chill.
It’s not her fault—it’s just that the actress disappears so fully into the characters she plays that it’s hard to see where she ends and the Type-A blondes you love to hate (and then maybe love again?!) begin.
“I’m attracted to characters like that because it’s a challenge for me to make these people relatable, to make audiences care about them,” she says via Zoom, dressed in a casual tee, her dogs snoozing behind her. “I’m not afraid of being unlikable.”

Lilac Glazed Donut Nails and 14 Other May Manicures to Try
It’s all about garden tones.

May is all about vibrancy. The sky is blue, flowers are in bloom, and our days are finally filled with color again. It’s the perfect time to lean into bright, saturated nail polishes and playful, eye-catching designs that reflect the season’s energy. Even a classic neutral set can be made all the more exciting with the addition of a unique pattern or cool decal.
“Garden tones, as I like to call them, are amazing for May,” says Hannah Lee, a manicurist who works with Sally Hansen. “Vibrant oranges, greens, and pretty pinks are perfect springtime manicures to welcome the warmer weather.”

Why Black Olives Are the Perfect Perimenopause Snack
In the ongoing search for healthy snack options, black olives often get overlooked. But the quintessentially Spanish pintxo is surprisingly high in nutritional benefits. “Olives are much more than a simple snack—they are a functional food with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cardioprotective properties,” explains Yaraseth del Castillo Ortega, nutritionist at the Antiaging Medical Institute in Madrid. “They provide healthy monounsaturated fats—especially oleic acid—which helps reduce systemic inflammation and protect the cardiovascular system. They are also an excellent source of vitamin E, iron, and fiber, and stand out for their high content of phenolic compounds such as oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol, both with potent neuroprotective and anti-aging action.”

From Vintage to Designer, These Are the Best Places to Sell Clothes Online
Cleaning out your closet can be an incredibly boring task—but, if you decide to sell clothes online, it can also bring the opportunity to make some extra cash. Luckily, there have never been more options. Whether you’ve got a stash of high quality vintage pieces or a handful of gorgeous designer items to sell, there’s an online consignment store for everything—and everyone.
Recently, I dove into the potential. I’d just moved from a house to an apartment, and while the apartment had a lot going for it—big windows, hardwood floors, and tons of old world charm—its closets were pretty miniscule. (Turns out “old world” isn’t exactly ideal when it comes to storing a modern wardrobe.) There was only one thing to do: go minimal.

The fascinating story of Princess Charlotte Augusta of Wales and her three German suitors
As Princess Charlotte turns 10, Tatler looks back at the 19th century Princess who shared her name

The love life of a Princess is perhaps never easy – particularly not when you are the heir presumptive to the throne. Take Princess Charlotte of Wales, for example, whose complex romantic entanglements included a love affair with an illegitimate son of the Duke of York, a failed engagement to a Dutch suitor, and a string of three love affairs with German Princes.
Born in 1796, Charlotte was the only child of George, Prince of Wales, and Caroline of Brunswick, during her grandfather King George III’s reign. As she came of age, her parents were keen to make a good match, one that would have political benefits as well as personal ones.

Seven Roles That Explain the Deeply Nuanced, Not Crazy Art of Nicolas Cage
Don’t reduce his career to his unhinged characters. The actor’s work is often more textured and soulful than he’s given credit for.

We’ve reached the point in Nicolas Cage’s career when it’s easiest to refer to every new movie he’s in by just describing his antics in them. Dracula Cage, terrible boss — that’s “Renfield.” Moody chef Cage, retriever of beloved animal — that’s “Pig.” Serial killer Cage, servant of Satan — that’s “Longlegs.”
The tactic works because it’s easy to imagine Cage donning any of those guises, and a thousand more besides. Many a commenter has noted Cage’s propensity for roles that can be described only as crazy, but the actor’s career is too expansive, and often more nuanced, to be reduced to his unhinged characters.

How Broadway’s Audra McDonald and Joy Woods Made Gypsy Their Own
By all accounts, the main event this Broadway season is director George C. Wolfe’s revival of Gypsy, starring six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald as the ambitious, overbearing, and fiercely protective Mama Rose. It’s a punishing, seismic role that’s been played by a true murderer’s row of Broadway divas—including Ethel Merman, Bernadette Peters, and, of course, Patti LuPone—but McDonald, the first Black actor to play Rose, was determined to interpret it anew. “I can’t chase after a Rose that sat in Patti’s body or Bernadette’s body, because that’s wrong for me,” she told Joy Woods, who plays Louise, when the co-stars stopped by the Interview offices earlier this month. “I have to find who she is in my body and in my spirit and in my soul.” For Woods, who made her Broadway debut in Six three years ago, getting to perform alongside McDonald eight times a week has been nothing short of an education. As early as last spring, when Woods took Broadway by storm with her 11 o’clock number in The Notebook, she began seeing promotional materials for the Gypsy revival on charging stations around the theater district. “I was like, ‘Oh my goodness. Audra, Gypsy, I cannot wait to see it,’” she recalled. “Never did it cross my mind to be a part of it.” Now, several months into the run, both McDonald and Woods are primed for recognition when Tony nominations come out later this week. To take in the moment, they joined us for a wide-ranging conversation about their “no-ego cast,” playing mother and daughter, and, of course, seasonal allergies.

How Did Paul Tazewell Follow Up His Historic Oscar Win? With Death Becomes Her, Of Course.
Artists whose work resonates are able to straddle the old and new, pushing us into the future with one hand while pulling from history with the other. Paul Tazewell, the recent Oscar-winning costume designer of Wicked, is just that sort of artist. The costumes he makes become characters all their own, exquisite, finely-wrought pieces that strike a balance between reference and imagination while telling us something about the people who wear them. This much is clear in the current, Tony-nominated production of Death Becomes Her, for which Tazewell designed frothy looks that blend a kind of medieval grandeur with the aesthetic of the late-1940s. Just three weeks after winning the highest honor in film—he says it still hasn’t sunk in yet, but the statue stands tall in his Manhattan apartment— I spoke with Tazewell about our shared Ohio origins, the broader meaning of a career in show business, and the power of a luscious cravat.

Does European Butter Live Up to the Hype? Here’s What Pastry Chefs Say
Should you splurge on this rich, tangy butter?

The mere mention of European butter sends our imaginations into overdrive, conjuring up images of pâte brisée, the French dough that puts apple pies and quiches over the top, and puff pastry delights, like cheese straws and Napoleons. What sets this iconic ingredient apart from the quotidian tub or stick in your fridge—and can it really go one better than American butter?
Then there is European-style butter and European cultured butter—where do they fit in? We turned to culinary professionals to find out how these different types of butter stack up and the best uses for each.

11 Household Items You Didn’t Know You Could Repurpose
These items still have a lot of life left.

In a world of overconsumption, it can be refreshing to take a longer look at what you already own and through the lens of what other purposes they may hold. For example, old bed sheets may not be suitable for sleeping anymore—but that doesn’t mean they don’t still have some life in them. (They make excellent picnic blankets, or can be crafted into grocery totes!) And that gorgeous candle vessel that’s empty of wax can certainly stick around with a creative reset.
Before throwing household items away, look through this list of ways to reuse them. From well-loved socks to old wooden doors and ladders, these items can easily have a second life.

8 Things You Should Never Store in Your Attic, According to Pro Organizers
Not all things are suited for storage in this bonus space.

Once you clear out the cobwebs and ghosts (kidding), attics can be a practical storage solution for any number of household items. But not all things are suited for attic storage.
Attics tend to be uninsulated, which leads to drastically fluctuating temperatures and moisture levels. Exposure to the elements can be unkind to treasured possessions. (And don’t get us started on the trips up narrow staircases and ladders with heavy bins and boxes.)
We turned to professional organizers to find out what items in particular you should never store in your attic. Follow their advice to help best preserve your stored items and make the smartest use of your space.

This Region in France Has Medieval Towns, Majestic Chateaux, and Prehistoric Caves—and It’s Little-known by American Travelers
France’s Dordogne region is loved by Brits, but has largely remained under the radar of American travelers.

Ridley Scott has a thing for Monpazier. After first filming “The Duelists,” starring Harvey Keitel, in the southwestern French town in 1977, the British director returned for 2021’s medieval tale, “The Last Duel,” with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Adam Driver.
As I stand in the middle of Place des Cornières, the main square, I can understand why. This town in France’s Dordogne region is a ready-made film set, particularly for glossy historical dramas. Cornières (angular arches) frame the square and glow in gold when the mid-morning light touches its buttercream stone buildings. Streets fan out in perfect geometry: Some, small alleys known as carreyous, are only two meters wide. Once hidden passages that allowed residents to scuttle around the village without paying taxes, the centuries-old stonework now conceals stylish, contemporary lodgings from public view.
