We’ve said it before, but today it bears repeating: 2025 is the year of Jane Austen. The 250th year anniversary of the birth of ‘Britain’s greatest author’ has been marked with society balls, blockbuster TV shows, and now, a film adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, in the works at Focus Features.
Daisy Edgar-Jones (from Normal People, Where the Crawdads Sing, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) will take a starring role in the remake, having teased fans prior to the announcement. In an Instagram post, the actress shared pictures of her reading Austen’s novel and the accompanying caption was simply a pair of eyes, very Austentatious!

The book I wrote ends in 966 pages.” With that settled, we can move on. “Anyway, what else do you want to know?”
