Queen Maxima, the queen of big hats and bold colors, got to indulge in both of her faves for recent outings.

As always, the whole is considerably more than the sum of its parts with her. By that we mean that her outfits tend to be high-impact at first glance, but then start looking a little off the more you take it in. She loves shoving tops into big skirts without using a belt to break them up and it never looks right. She also likes pairing the kind of hats you’d wear on a cruise with fairly dressy outfits and that also never looks right. She does have a great color sense, however, and we love the chartreuse and navy together.

This is just a great suit in a great color; no muss or fuss needed. It’s hard to get a look like this wrong. Our only quibble is with the overly matchy earrings.
