Viola Davis came to Rio to promote her G20 movie and we were kind of thinking of putting her Alberta Ferretti gown for the photo call up to a vote.

Like, it’s not terrible. She always knows how to put together a look and sell it. She does great with bold colors and prints – better than a lot of stars, in fact. But we can’t say it’s all that great either. The color doesn’t seem all that fresh to us and we really don’t like the shape of the sleeves, the center seam, or the deliberate pattern mismatch. But then we saw the dress in its proper context:

And it turns out if you put this dress on a Rio rooftop in the pouring rain with a helicopter behind it and two hot men working to keep you dry, it all sort of comes together nicely, doesn’t it?
