We’ll be honest with you. We’re in that post-awards season/pre-summer film festivals spring slump where there is little red carpetry to be had. If things were just a little busier on that front, we might have skipped lightly past these shots of Long Bright River star Amanda Seyfried at the Series Mania Festival in Lille, France and never featured them. Unfortunately for her, we’re bored, so we’re going to nitpick the hell out of her fairly basic look. There’s just one problem.

She’s not really giving us much to nitpick. Oh, don’t get us wrong. We think the earrings are a missed opportunity, as is the shoe choice. We also think that sheer tights would have done a lot to finish the look off. As it is, it just looks like she threw this on three minutes ago. That quality can often lend a look a feeling of breezy, effortless chicness, but we kinda feel a look like this actually needs a little effort to be memorable. Black sheer tights, metallic pumps and showier jewelry would have been our recs, which she almost certainly would have rejected because she likes to keep all of her looks simple and unfussy.
