Fernanda Torres has been quietly gaining momentum in the Best Actress race, going by a lot of awards prognosticators. We’re not sure if she’s really a threat to Demi Moore’s ascendancy, but it’s nice to see her stepping out on more and more red carpets. She appeared at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in a simple Chanel look that flirts with chicness.
She likes to show off her legs and there’s video of her at this event working the hell out of that skirt slit, which does tend to alter the feel of the dress. Here, it comes off elegant, but a bit heavy. But the design is unfussy and offers the kind of low-key glam she seems to prefer. We love the shoes, but we’re not sure they coordinate all that well with the gown.
