Princess Cathy stopped by the National Portrait Gallery to meet with school children and launch “an interactive trail to support social and emotional development in under fives” as part of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. We are legally prevented from talking about anything she’s wearing.
But we’re rebellious and ungovernable types, so pffft to that. Kensington Palace recently announced that it would no longer be providing any information on what the Princess wears on her engagements, because they want the focus to be on what she does rather than what she wears. It’s an understandable impulse, but ultimately a misguided one. The vast majority of the Princess’s worldwide media coverage is contained within the fashion press and her ability to move British products every time she wears one is well documented. Fashion is a major component of royal life and literally always has been. Anyway, this is a perfectly lovely businesslike day look. We’re not huge fans of brown and black as a color combo, but the brown pin stripe does a nice job of pulling the whole look together.
