Heidi Klum Reveals Her Latest Halloween Costume

We’re feeling pretty meh about this one. Just yesterday, we wrote that Heidi had become so associated with Halloween that we’re a bit surprised she hasn’t turned it into more of a merchandising situation for herself, but now we feel like we want to walk that back a little.  She and her husband Tom Kaulitz came to her annual Halloween party dressed as a couple of E.T.s.

This is obviously very good work and demonstrates the high level of commitment we’ve come to expect from her, but celebrity Halloween costumes have become increasingly elaborate across the board in the last few years and at a certain point, it stops being a costume and starts being about rich Hollywood people availing themselves of the best special effects work they can buy. Impressive, sure. And of course she has a long history of elaborate, Hollywood-level costumes. But it’s really just an animatronic robot with a person inside of it. And besides, Janelle Monae, who’s been coming for that Halloween Queen title, already unveiled her version of this costume a day before. It’s a celebrity Halloween arms race at this point.
