We’ve been preparing ourselves all year for the onslaught of cosplay that will be the Wicked promotional tour, since both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have shown a preference for dressing in nods to their characters. But we really weren’t prepared for the prospect of them running out of theme looks before the tour even started. The co-stars came to the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards in two looks we’d swear were for the final couple of days of Wicked touring.

Ma’am, that’s a big ol’ no. Every bit of it. What you’re wearing is ugly and stupid. We can’t be any more plain about it than that.

This is meh. It’s a wedding gown and it looks like one. She might have tried to Glinda it up with some pink shoes or something, but otherwise, this strikes us as a disappointingly basic look for her.
