We suppose they’re not coordinating their looks as much as we assumed they would if one of them’s showing up in jeans and the other one is sporting opera gloves. But we actually like the juxtaposition of styles. As much as we talk about these events as  marketing and branding exercises, we’d still rather see the stars who show up for them to sport styles that feel true and expressive to themselves rather than extensions of the project’s costume department. Sure, it’s a little themey, in the sense that one of them’s in a wild green and the other is in a very prim sort of outfit, but it’s not cosplay, and that’s a good thing. LOVE Cynthia’s coat. Ariana’s ensemble is cute, and we like the irregular hem on the vest, but the overwhelming beigeness is a little boring.
