Hey, you want to hear about the latest thing that annoys us in celebrity coverage? Sure you do! It’s when pubs and sites refer to celebrity couples having a “date night” on the red carpet, which is a cutesy way to make a million-dollar marketing and branding event sound like “just regular folks” cutesiness. And before anyone looks, we’re 99% sure we’ve jokingly used that phrasing in the past about celeb couples, but lately, a lot of writers and editors who know better are casting these global PR events as personal or relatable interactions. Anyway, here’s the global movie star and his superstar international lawyer wife, canoodling in front of a wall of cameras.
The other thing the celebrity press loves to do is claim people who are not particularly good at fashion to be fashionistas simply because of their level of fame. In other words, we’re the bitches who like to point out that Amal Clooney rarely gets all the details right. This is definitely among her best style efforts, but the pale yellow doesn’t look great on her and the overabundance of lace and ruffles make it looks like a little girl’s bedroom set. There’s a lot going on with that skirt design and it looks to us like it could use some edits, but fortunately, the paleness of the yellows plays down all of that frippery. He’s okay. He’s claimed that he wore the same tux for decades, but this one actually looks pretty fresh-out-of-the-box.
