Sebastian Stan and Maria Bakalovic star as a young Donald and Ivana Trump in The Apprentice. We figured we’d get that out of the way right now. We’ll wait to see on the former, but the latter is spectacular casting. For now, let’s judge what they wore to the Cannes premiere, yes? Yes.
SEBASTIAN STAN IN BALENCIAGA
Hmm. We tend to think that if you look Sebastian Stan and someone hands you a free Balenciaga tuxedo to wear, the ensuing visual should be a hell of a sight better than this. It’s fine. It mostly fits, although it seems a little roomy on him. But the grooming is terrible. Shave that neck and ditch the ’90s boyband hair pronto, mister.
MARIA BAKALOVA IN DOLCE & GABBANA ALTA MODA
We get it, but we think it’s too editorial for a red carpet. She gets a lot of credit for picking such a hard-to-wear gown, but at the end of the day, are you wearing a gown made to look unfinished or are you wearing an unfinished gown? Granted, we’re not sure what “finished” looks like with this design, but we loathe how that bodice looks on her.
