It occurs to us, looking at these shots of Ripley star Andrew Scott leaving the GMA studios, that we’re going to have to start working on tempering our responses to his fashion choices. Because this?
This kind of pisses us off. The shapes, the styles, the colors – literally no part of this ensemble flatters him. It makes him look pasty and schlumpy and older than his years. We can’t remember the last time we saw a male star put so much work into his style – these are not random or chintzy choices – with the results so consistently giving you the opposite impression. There’s no part of modern or classic menswear that would be difficult for him to pull off (so long as he stays away from the edgy and trendy pieces), but we don’t think he’s ever stepped out in an outfit we loved on him.
