We feel like we’re about to commit the highest form of blasphemy, but we didn’t actually love Lupita’s gown for the Oscars. It almost feels crazy just to type that.
We’re not putting this up to a vote because we know good and damn well how it’s going to go. Look, we’re not saying she looks bad. It would be very difficult for her to look bad. It’s just that the design seems fairly basic except for two details we don’t like all that much: the feathers and the slightly odd shape of the neckline. We don’t mind the feathers at the hem, but we really hate the ones at the waist. As for the neckline, we’re just not feeling the shape of it or the straps. It looks a little sporty to us. She’s always gorgeous no matter what, but we were a little disappointed by this frock.
