We would like to take this moment to personally thank the NAACP for providing us with a truckload of gowns to discuss a week after the Oscars. If you all don’t mind, we’re just going to milk this for all it’s worth. Fortunately, the ladies at the Image Awards turned it out. Leading the pack was Miss Halle, celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day.
That color is absolutely stunning on her. The design of the bodice is interesting, but just a little bit overworked. It’s impressive that the fabric is that manipulated but mostly avoids looking bulky or awkward. Still, we’d have suggested editing out the pleats below the waist. We’d normally suggest a pendant for a neckline like this, but the gown is so bold and focus-pulling that the relatively clean styling strikes us as a smart choice.
