Andrew Scott joined his co-stars Claire Foy and Jamie Bell on the red carpet at the LA screening of their film All of Us Strangers. Choices were made; not all of them good.
Jamie Bell has always had a fairly dull promo style, but it might have served him well this time. Not that we’re going to pretend a plain black suit and an undershirt constitute high fashion, but when your co-stars go for the clown clothes, sometimes it helps if you’re the boring one. Having said that, we don’t actually mind Andrew’s suit. The color’s not the best one for him and it feels a bit more appropriate for summer, but we appreciate the effort to look a little flamboyant for the occasion. The pussy bow blouse is a nice touch, although it looks a little sloppy. Don’t like the doll boots at all. As for Miss Claire, she’s doing her usual cray thing. Considering how many times we’ve railed against fringe and boring sheer skirts, we think our dislike of this ensemble is easily assumed. The collar is kind of clever, but it’s the only thing about the look that isn’t too weird to consider. All of that asymmetrical fringe is going to give us a rage nosebleed, so we’re going to stop looking at it now. It’s for our own good.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
From director Andrew Haigh. One night in his near-empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), which punctures the rhythm of his everyday life. As a relationship develops between them, Adam is preoccupied with memories of the past and finds himself drawn back to the suburban town where he grew up, and the childhood home where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell), appear to be living, just as they were on the day they died, 30 years before.
Cast: Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell, and Claire Foy.
