In recent years, Pope Tilda has moved away from the bold, avant garde couture pieces that tended to make her a red carpet fave. She’s traveling a much more conventional road these days. She hit the Marrakech Film Festival red carpet (with her son Xavier Swinton Byrne) in something we’d never have expected from her five or ten years ago: a pretty, pastel Chanel dress.
The only interesting bit of styling is the lip color. The pontiff is in her traditional mode for now. If she never returns to the more challenging fashion, we’ll be disappointed, but she’s earned the right to default to pretty dresses if she wants to. Besides, she will never completely abandon the cray couture. Just wait until she’s in Oscar contention again.
