Jennifer Garner hit the New York sidewalks (and their attached television talk show studios) to promote her new Netflix Christmas movie 17 Going On 50.*
AT THE VIEW IN RALPH LAUREN AND BRANDON MAXWELL
It’s an inarguably cute look, but we’ll argue a little bit with that skirt. It’s giving cheerleader. The shoes, on the other hand, are spectacular.
AT THE TODAY SHOW IN CHLOÉ AND ALAÏA
Also kind of inarguably cute. People tend to think we’re saying this in a dismissive way, but her style sweet spot is “Aspirational Working Mom Chic.” Sure, she could go for “Prestige Actress” or “Sex Symbol” or “Wacky Aunt” (among many other choices) if she wanted to, but this style fits her brand and her public persona. Having said that, the hem’s too low, the dress is a mite snug, and the cut of that jacket doesn’t coordinate well with it, nor do the shoes.
IN JASON WU
The skirt is cute but the blouse is horrible; terrible cut, awful color for her.
*Okay, that’s not actually the title of the film, but it may as well be:
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Jess and Bill Walker are doing their best to keep their family connected as their children grow older, more independent, and more distant. When a chance encounter with an astrological reader causes the family to wake up to a full body switch, on the morning of the most important day of each of their lives, can the Walkers unite to land a promotion, college interview, record deal and soccer tryout? Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms, Emma Myers and Brady Noon star in this family comedy directed by McG and based on the book “Bedtime For Mommy” by Amy Krouse-Rosenthal.
It looks AWFUL.
