Kerry Washington is clearly having a “boots and tweed” moment. After showing up at The View to promote her new memoir Thicker Than Water in a high-end Chanel knockoff and some kick-ass knee-highs the other day, she came to the Colbert studios wearing a pretty close variation on the theme:
We like this one better than the Giambattista Valli, but we still think tweed mini-dresses are kind of strange garments. It winds up looking bulky and itchy. The jacket helps complete the look, but the turned-up sleeves looking of awful. It’s not quite cold enough to wear them, but we think the whole look would benefit from adding some black tights or sheer hose. The bag and boots are great, but the choker doesn’t really go with the rest of the look, in our opinion.
