Anne Hathaway in Versace at the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s ‘The Albies’ Awards

Miss Annie saw Claudia Schiffer walk this dress down a runway last week and immediately snagged it to wear to the George and Amal Clooney’s little social justice shindig. We have thoughts and reservations.

First thought: The style is really well suited to her and she accentuated it well with the slightly retro hair and makeup. First reservation: Those hideously ridiculous shoes. Other random thoughts and reservations: the color story is a difficult one to pull off for any pale person and we’re not sure she’s managing it. The harlequin pattern is fun, but breaking it up with lace panels nearly ruins it. We tend to think she’s doing about as good as anyone not named Claudia Schiffer can do with this gown and we don’t deny that she looks pretty amazing, but we have just can’t love the design. We’d throw this one out to a group vote, but we already know the shoes are going to ruin the look for a majority of y’all.
