First, let’s get this out of the way: it’s weird that they titled this movie after a Tina Turner song which was then turned into a critically acclaimed and iconic film three decades ago. We don’t get it either. Second, we want your honest opinion – as if you would give us anything else – on this dress Lily James chose.
We’ve been pretty okay with her turn toward flashier (i.e. tacky) fashion ever since she played Pamela Anderson, but we’re starting to think it’s time to, we don’t know, maybe evolve away from this particular style? We’re not suggesting she cover up or choose a more demure style. If any actress or pop star feels her bod is an asset in the branding game, then more power to her. We’re judgey about a lot of things, but not that. We just think this dress is kind of ugly and harsh. The bra effect is tacky on its own, but it feels like the shoes shoot the whole look straight into the tacky stratosphere. Are we being too judgey here? Should we let a girl get her tacky on if she feels like it? Put more succinctly:

IN or OUT?
