BIG HAIR, DON’T CARE. Naomi Watts delivered the full Babe Paley drag on location shooting Feud: Capote’s Women, Ryan Murphy’s followup to Feud: Bette and Joan. Based on the book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal and a Swan Song for an Era. Tom Hollander will be playing Truman Capote and the cast includes Molly Ringwald as Joanne Carson. Calista Flockhart as Lee Radziwill and Diana Lane as Slim Keith.
Feud: Bette and Joan, like almost everything with Ryan Murphy’s name attached to it in the last five or six years, was a major disappointment in a lot of ways, so we’re working hard not to get too excited about this one, even if it does make for a much more deliciously gossipy story. Hollander and Watts look their parts, although he’s at least a decade too old to be playing Truman at this point and Babe Paley would have rather died than hit 5th Avenue with hair that was anything less than flawless. Someone needs to empty another can of VO5 on her.
