Till star Danielle Deadwyler is taking this buzz-heavy moment and serving up some big fashion in response to it. We said that her dress for the premiere screamed “Prestige Actress,” but the one she wore to visit Jimmy Kimmel is a little too showy to fall squarely into that staid category.

That’s just a lot of dress – and we’re talking design rather than volume. The color, the shine, the construction, the embellishments – it’s a LOT. We’d almost argue that it’s too much for a talk show setting, but she’s really taking this moment to make an impact, which is never a bad idea for an actress in her position. Put it this way: When we were compiling the day’s roster of posts and this set of pictures came up, we both agreed to run them, partially because it’s a show sort of look and partially because she’s on the rise and heading toward the awards track so we want to document that. Do we love this? Not really. The color’s a tough one, the shine’s a bit much, we don’t love the cutouts, and those jingle bells on the neckline come close to ruining it. But there’s no denying the pure impact it delivers.
