We appreciate a style swerve as much as any two queens, but sometimes a star will swerve too hard and head right for the guardrails, so to speak. Natasha Lyonne used to have a pretty consistent style that tended to reference the late ’70s and early ’80s, a period that produced fashion that tends to suit her. But no one should feel locked into a certain restrictive style, especially if it’s retro-inspired. We don’t blame her for broadening her style horizons a bit more in the last few years. Even so, we’re afraid we’re going to have to get off this supportive bus at the next stop. This one just isn’t working for us:
It’s possible we’re reading too much into her facial expressions, but it feels like even she can’t believe how over-the-top this outfit is, in which case, we can’t help but agree. The skirt, belt and shoes all have real possibilities, but the combination of spikes, studded leather, pale yellow lace and a pixie collar is just completely ridiculous. Girl, you got Gucci’d hard on this one.
