Diane Kruger tried out two very different style approaches to promote her film Marlowe at the San Sebastian Film Festival. One of them worked really well! Mostly!
AT THE PHOTOCALL IN ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER
This is perhaps a little theme-y to promote a Philip Marlowe film, but since she’s playing the mysterious blonde and not the gumshoe, this doesn’t come off too much like cosplay. If she’d worn a fedora and spats, we might’ve had a bit more of an objection, but it’s just a really sharp suit, perfectly tailored to her. But we have to be honest, we hate the tissue box shoes.
AT THE PREMIERE IN PACO RABANNE
For the premiere, she went in a totally different style direction and oh God, we hate all of it. We hate the figure skater top, we hate the tablecloth skirt, we hate the sequins, we hate the flowers, we hate the colors, we hate the cuffs of the sleeves and the shape of the skirt. It’s all bad and we have nothing nice to say about any of it. There. Consider your look assessed, Diane.
