Rebel Wilson’s got a pretty dumb-looking movie coming out and to mark the occasion, she indulged in the hottest trend among the celebrity set this month: wearing a standing outfit for sitting down. It feels like we’ve made this exact critique about 30 times in the last couple of weeks, as if suddenly everyone forgot how to dress for a talk show.
It’s actually a pretty cute dress. The color looks great on her and we like the shape of it. The bodice looks a little wonky, though. And the neckline is proportionally too low. When you see the original maxi version below, the neckline works much better. For us, plunging necklines are only problematic if the proportions surrounding it aren’t quite right. In this case, it comes right to the waist of a knee-length skirt, throwing the look off. It looks like they tried to stitch it shut, which is why the bodice looks all funky. A shame, because she might have rocked the hell out of the maxi version.
