We tend to think most Vauthier designs are pretty tacky, but we also think they work like gangbusters on the right person while they’re doing promotional work. The pieces are always colorful, usually sparkly, and highly photogenic. This is a cute, fun party dress, even if it is wildly over-designed. It could do with having roughly half those ruffles edited out, but your girl is a pro and she doesn’t seem to have any trouble working it. This is the perfect dress for WWHL, the one late night talk show with the most “party in the basement” atmosphere to it.

This one, not so much. We are big-time anti-fringeists going way back. It actually doesn’t look too bad when she’s walking out (although she seems to be struggling in those giant platforms). It’s when she sits down that it all goes a mess. There’s just no way to arrange that to look pretty enough for television.

While we’re sure she wouldn’t mind doing a frothy rom-com part, she really is incredibly well suited to play creepy bad girls.
