Lets run down some of the best and worst pales, pastels and shimmers on the Oscars red carpet, yes? Yes.

We’re not gonna lie: we were pleasantly surprised by this. Not that she hasn’t been wearing all kinds of gownery through awards season, but this is just perfect. It’s got that Hollywood shimmer to it, but the design is so simple and easy to wear, which is where we think her formal style sweet spot lies.

The fit is flawless and the color looks amazing on her. Do we love the hip pads? Put it this way, given where they are and what they look like, it’s a surprise to us that we don’t hate them.

Pretty and perfect for a 15-year-old. She looks glamorous and beautiful without looking like someone tried to rush her into adulthood.

There were more cutouts and thigh-high slits on this night than we’ve ever seen before on an Oscars red carpet. Since the stars were also ditching shirts and pants when they could get away with it, we think we just have to embrace the newfound tackiness of the celebrity red carpet. Bring us back to the days before stylists and publicists made everyone dress the same, we say. Get your tacky on, girl. We don’t love the design, but you are working the shit out of it. Given the way they had her dressed though all of CODA, we don’t blame her for wanting to go this route.

Without question, the absolute worst look of the night. It may be one of the worst actress nominee Oscar looks we’ve ever seen. Girl, you need to get someone in your life who will do you right. If that’s the hair you want, then that cannot be the dress that goes with it. The color combination makes her look sickly. The dress design is blandly okay, but the textile looks worn and dirty in pictures.

This is a gal who proved this year that she knows how to do tacky fashion in a good way. We love this. It’s not chic, but it’s pretty and we can’t find a reason to argue against her wearing a Sexy Barbie look to the Oscars.

Didn’t Millennial Pink go out of style? Shouldn’t it have by now? It’s a great color for decor but it photographs terrible on white people wearing it. The design is overwrought. Love the earrings, though.

Absolutely perfect. Look at that face. This girl is in LOVE with this dress.

Catwoman showed up working an Audrey serve and we’ve gotta hand it to her. This look would appear stale or unphotogenic on a lesser wearer, but she’s making it look modern and weirdly, almost edgy somehow.
