Okay, we feel like this appearance by current Hollywood power couple and fellow Oscar nominees Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons is giving us slight permission to admit something we never felt comfortable admitting before. We’ve struggled with it and we’ve debated ad nauseam as to whether we should ever mention it at all. You see, despite both of them having seriously impressive careers and skill levels, there’s something about these two that always presents a problem for us every time we feature them.
We always have to resist the urge to infantilize them and talk about them like they’re cute little doll people who live in a perfect little plastic house in someone’s bedroom.
There. We said it.
We’re SORRY, okay? We know they’re grownups with lifetimes of experience between them and there are so many other ways to talk about them, but they’re just so darn cute together, right?
Kiki’s always loved herself a twee romantic style, but it’s rare to see her trading in this kind of simplistic minimalism. With the shoes and the jewels, it comes off like 17th Century undergarments while she’s waiting for her attendants to put all the hoops and corsets on her. And somehow, it really works for her.
