For this week’s podcast, we simply had to spend a good portion of it talking about the life and legacy of the legendary André Leon Talley, who died this week. We were concerned that some might think of him only as the flamboyant red carpet commentator or the sassy America’s Next Top Model judge, so we spend a good deal of time discussing his career, his background, what drove him and why he was such a trailblazer in a space that literally had no space for him. His influence is almost immeasurable and we don’t think it will truly be understood for another couple of decades.
PLUS: All the many reasons why we uncharacteristically suggest you power through the slow or difficult parts of HBO Max’s Station Eleven, which we found a little bit of a drag at times, but wound up delivering a flawless finale that made the sometimes meandering journey worth.
ALSO: Why And Just Like That continues to drop the ball as a Sex and the City sequel, forgetting one of the primary, foundational tenets of the show.
A smorgas-pod of topics, if you will. Thank you once again for humoring us, kittens.
