This is what we like to call “coming out hard.” Get your mind out of the gutter. We’re talking about when a star hits the style as hard as possible in service to promoting a project. Vanessa’s got her buzzy musical premiering soon and she’s got the outfit on to prove it.

It’s a very strong look, but the details feel a bit off. For one, she’s wearing off-white boots with a black-and-white dress. Those sort of slouchy, knee-high stiletto boots are still on trend we guess, but proportionally, we don’t think they work with the dress. On the pro side, the dress is very cute and it works in this setting despite being entirely sequined, which can sometimes come off overwhelming on camera. We appreciate the boots for being unexpected, but we think a black boot in a slimmer silhouette or hitting lower on the leg is a no-brainer here.
