It wasn’t among the showier dresses on the Oscars red carpet, but that may be why we like Margot Robbie’s whole look so much. Not that we place too much value on demure modesty for an event as promotional and back-patting as this one, but this look strikes the perfect tone for an actress who’s at the Oscars because the film she produced (Promising Young Woman) is up for a bunch of awards.
It’s a look that says “I’m still a glamorous movie star, but I’m here to support my collaborators and not take the focus off them.” Maybe we’re reading too much into it, but it feels just right to us. We love that textile and we think it was well-utilized by rendering it in such a simple design so it remains the center of attention rather than a bunch of fussy elements.
Her new bangs look really cute.
