Billy Porter is not the only person who came to New Year’s Rockin’ Eve to slay. Miss Lucy showed up for her hosting duties with three distinctly sparkly/furry looks in honor of the holiday and in deference to the cold howling through Times Square. While her looks didn’t quite scale the fabulous heights of Mr. Porter’s sartorial efforts, they were nonetheless cute, stylish, and perfect for the event.
Stella McCartney and Dolce&Gabbana
Even in a blurry video shot, we can find something to complain about. Then again, the fact that our issue stands out under less-than-optimal modeling circumstances just reinforces our point. Having said that, it’s a really minor one. We love the whole look, but we think the patterned tights weren’t needed. Since she’s working faux fur, crystals, leather and suede in the same look, we’d have advised that she didn’t need further pattern. Hey, we get paid to nitpick here.
Max Mara and Dolce&Gabbana
Does a bandeau top make sense with a faux fur coat? Maybe not, but this is kind of a fun, sporty-fab holiday look. The piping on the jacket does tend to give it a bit of a cruiseline uniform feel, however.
Dolce&Gabbana
See? We were right about the patterned tights, weren’t we? This is cute, but we don’t think we’d have rec’d pairing a white dress with a cream faux fur coat. It makes the latter come off a little dingy.
