They’re baaaaaack. Because nothing can keep a good franchise down, RuPaul’s Drag Race – the OG – is coming back in less than a month’s time for it’s 13th season. While we can certainly understand the sentiment that the show and franchise is in danger of over-saturation (in the last 14 months, the world has seen – and we have recapped – RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season one, RuPaul’s Original Recipe Drag Race season 12, RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars season 5, Drag Race Canada season 1 and RuPaul’s Drag Race Holland season one), we are probably the last people to reasonably complain about it, since we wrote a whole-ass book with Drag Race as its framework.

Anyway, if there’s one thing we know about drag queens, it’s that you shouldn’t attempt to yank the spotlight off them, so we’ll stand back and let the girls introduce themselves.

The polish and overall talent level appear to be fairly high, which should result in a somewhat entertaining season. It’s hard to judge by these promo shots, which are usually pretty uniform in their styling, but there’s not a whole lot of diversity of drag in this lot. We may have gotten a little spoiled by the international versions of the show, which tended to give some space to freaky or less polished queens instead of a parade of glamour queens. But like we said, it wouldn’t be fair for us to judge or predict too much off of these pictures. Having said that, who’s your front-runner? Who’s the villain? Who’s going to cry the most? Who’s going to get robbed? Let’s hear your predix!
