Kittens, if you’re in the mood for an inspirational celebrity story, here’s one for you. Amanda Seyfried, who deserves every bit of the buzz and praise she’s getting for her turn as film star Marion Davies in Mank, has been posting an amazing array of gorgeous looks on Instagram. The reason we haven’t been featuring them? We never saw more than the top half of each, which makes it difficult sometimes to put together at least 150 words of assessment/description. We asked her stylist Elizabeth Stewart on Instagram why we never see full pictures of each look and she replied, “It’s sweatpants on the bottom.”

SALUTE TO THE QUEEN OF 2020. Who amongst us hasn’t, in this year of our woes 2020, put on the bare minimum in order to face our laptop cameras? Amanda Seyfried is all of us – from the waist down. All the other parts are pure movie star.

Her hair and makeup have been gorgeous throughout this promo “tour.” She’s been sporting a lot more pinks and reds than feels “normal” for her, going by our recollection of her red carpet history. We think this is partly due to the need to really pop in a limited scenario and also to sort of lean into the silver screen blonde persona that Davies helped establish.

To a slightly harder, mildly sexier, more provocative form of power dressing. All of this feels really well thought out, seems to be a representation of her true preferences (as opposed to being stuff she had to be talked into or wore to satisfy a contract), and looks truly fantastic on her.

AND SHE’S WEARING SWEAT PANTS IN EVERY PICTURE. RESPECT FOR A REAL ONE.
