Cathy Cambridge Brings Back Her Signature Color in Marks & Spencer

Posted on June 18, 2020

The Duchess of Cambridge has led an online school assembly for the Oak National Academy, during which she spoke about the importance of mental wellbeing among children.

As part of the assembly, Kate joined a video call with students from Waterloo Primary Academy in Blackpool, whose parents have been working on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic.

Mrs Cathy breaks out her once-signature color! There was a time when it seemed like she opted for blue outfits every five out of seven appearances, which made a little branding sense because who can forget Mummy-in-law’s ever-present sapphire ring? And if you think she doesn’t think of her public ensembles that way, we point to the fact that she used to dress her entire family in matching colors for public appearances. For a Cathy dress, there’s a matching Bill tie; trust. But it doesn’t seem like she’s as wedded to blue (you’ll pardon the pun) as she once was. To be fair, she did wear some light blue pieces last month, but it feels like she’s embraced the rainbow much more in recent years. She’s been wearing way more reds, yellows and greens in the last year. And it’s probably another instance of her looking to the Queen for guidance on how to navigate her role. Betty’s worn every shade and hue you can think of because she and her courtiers figured out that a figurehead needs to be highly visible.

Anyway, this is a cute dress and we have no doubt that if she were wearing it in public, she’d be sporting a pair of putty colored pumps.
