Kittens, you may have heard that we wrote a (very heavily researched) book. It’s something we mentioned once or twice. You may also have heard that folks are desperate for some entertainment and distractions at the moment. Well, because of the former, we feel we can offer a little help on the latter. You are, of course, still encouraged to buy or download our book for your entertainment and distraction needs, but if you’ve already done so, or you need further convincing, we offer the following smorgasboard of drag performances, culled from our massive research files. We spent hours and hours and hours watching these and dozens of other drag or trans performers, not just for research, but to keep that draggy energy high whenever we need a boost. All of the following performers are mentioned or spotlighted in the book.

Now GAG ON THE ELEGANZA – and enjoy!

“Our book Legendary Children: The First Decade of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the Last Century of Queer Life is on sale now!

The Los Angeles Times called it “a nuanced exploration of the gender-bending figures, insider lingo and significant milestones in queer history to which the show owes its existence.”  The Washington Post said it “arrives at just the right time … because the world needs authenticity in its stories. Fitzgerald and Marquez deliver that, giving readers an insight into the important but overlooked people who made our current moment possible.”  Paper Magazine said to “think of it as the queer education you didn’t get in public school” and The Associated Press said it was “delightful and important” and “a history well told, one that is approachable and enjoyable for all.”
