Darlings, the most frustratingly obtuse show in the world is coming back for its third season and all the fabulous robot ladies came out in their finery to celebrate that. And you know what that means, don’t you, kittens? JUDGING TIME!
Evan Rachel Wood in Versace
She does extremely well with this sort of slightly retro, sharp, almost angular type of look. Severity is something that works for her. We love everything about this look, from the makeup to the shoes, but the design of the bust is kind of a shame. It detracts from what could have been a more sleek sort of look.
Tessa Thompson in Loewe
Similarly, Miss Tessa does well with unusual silhouettes, volume, and this sort of vaguely folk-costume-inspired fashion. We’re not super-crazy about the color story and we’re not sure the print works all that well with the design of the dress. Lots of volume plus big circles makes for a potentially overwhelming look. But this is exactly the kind of thing she’s best at handling so we like this, mostly. The bodice is just a bit too busy for it, though.
Thandie Newton in Burberry
The power of the Thandie is allowing her to look drop-dead stunning even though the design’s got some issues. All of these dresses seem to have weird bodice designs and this one’s kind of the weirdest. It’s got a sci-fi vibe to it that makes sense for the event, but we don’t love that big triangle and there’s way too much puckering.
